(Namita Pradhan, Intern Journalist)Himachal Pradesh; The private schools of Himanchal Pradesh have continued charging heavy fees despite school remaining closed since March due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the student-parent forum has urged Jai Ram Thakur-need State Government to get legislation on the ongoing monsoon session of the state Assembly to look after this.
The Student Parent Forum’s convenor Vijender Mehra said they would discuss their agitation on the rise in the hike of fees of the private schools ” if the demands are not fulfilled. ” The state government should set a law in the openings Assembly session to regulate the tuition fee, annual charges, admission fees, computer fees, charges of the smart classroom and other charges of the private school impose arbitrary hike every year, he said. Mehra said, despite several orders passed and directions issued by the state government for these private schools, the school remain ‘unsafe’, and surprisingly no action was taken against it for flouting the decision of the government.
He also alleged that the Himanchal Pradesh education department has sent a proposal to the state government in order to end the loot. but due to delay, it can’t be laid on the floor of the house. “If the state government is worried about the student and their parents then it is needed to pass a law to regulate the private schools of the state. If proper action was not taken against the private schools then the parent forum will start the protest.
