(Pooja Dubey, Intern Journalist) In Pakistan, a 17-year-old Hindu girl committed suicide in a rape case a year ago on Wednesday. For the past few days, this Hindu girl living in Tharparkar district, who was released on bail, was continuously blackmailing her. Due to this, she committed suicide by jumping into the well of the village Dalan-Jo-Tar area near Chellahar town.
Three people were involved in the rape of the woman last year. The family alleged that the accused not only raped their child but also made a video of which they were blackmailing the victim. Human rights activist Samar Manjani, Bhimraj, and others have strongly condemned the incident.
The girl’s family said- the accused were out on bail and all belong to overbearing families. He constantly blackmailed the victim. Troubled by this, she committed suicide. The SSP of the district, Abdullah Ahmadiyar, admitted that the girl was gang-raped. This was confirmed in the medical report. Local Hindu community leaders have demanded strict action against the accused.
The world body has expressed concern about the issue of forced marriage, conversion, and rape of minorities in Pakistan. A report on religious freedom matters in America also clearly states that the Pakistani government is unable to control these growing matters. Recently, such cases have increased in Hindu, Sikh, Baloch and Shia, and Ahmedia minorities in Pakistan.
