According to the new guidelines:

- Patients who are in isolation at home will be discharged only 10 days after the onset of symptoms and not for three consecutive days of fever. - Asymptomatic patients with no symptoms or very mild symptoms may opt for isolation at home if they have the necessary facilities at home to avoid contact with other family members.
- According to the new guidelines, the patient must be available 24×7 to care for the patient. In addition, the guidelines reiterated that caregivers and all close contacts in such cases should take hydroxychloroquine as a preventive medicine according to protocol and as prescribed by the treating medical officer.
