AP Chief Minister YS Jagan is hearing a petition filed in the High Court on the Tirumala Declaration issue. Sudhakar Babu of Vaikunthapuram in Amravati zone of Guntur district went to the high court saying that the Chief Minister who went to Thirumala for Thirumala Venkateswaraswamy Brahmotsava did not give a declaration.

The lawyer for the petitioner appeared before the court. He said that only Hindus have access to Tirumala. The CM, who is a Christian, did not go without giving a declaration. This is against sections 97 and 153 of the Revenue Act. TTD officials have stated that they are not enforcing the rules. The judge asked the lawyer if he had any evidence that Jagan was a Christian.
The lawyer for the petitioner said that the Chief Minister should ask for clarification on this. The judge said that they should ask the Chief Minister why. The lawyer claimed that the chief minister and his family members had participated in several Christian meetings. The judge said how can one think of Hindus and Christians by name.
The CM said he would take the time to submit evidence that he was a Christian. The High Court asked the petitioner to show evidence that CM Jagan was a Christian. Without submitting the evidence, the CM commented on how to tell the court that he is a Christian and not a Hindu. The court adjourned the hearing to May 22 to give details.
