(Aditya Shaw, Intern Journalist): 14 days ago after his wife’s corona was caught. After that, the husband admitted his wife to Nilratan Sarkar Hospital near Sealdah railway station. The treatment begins. The patient was discharged from the hospital as he did not show any other symptoms for the last 10 days. But the husband is reluctant to take his wife home. The 75-year-old resident of Beleghata Ice Factory claimed that the hospital should examine his wife’s corona and write a negative report. Then he will take his wife home.
The NRS authorities rejected the plea of the Hindi-speaking old man. According to government guidelines, if a patient has no symptoms within a week or more of being admitted to the hospital, within ten days, he no longer needs to be tested. Thus the hospital can give leave to the patient. The old man refused to follow these guidelines. He said, “There is only one house in my house. He has two granddaughters and one daughter. I don’t know if his wife’s corona has healed. How can I take my wife home in this situation? ” He has also applied to the hospital authorities for a house near the ice factory. With this attitude of the patient’s family, the NRS authorities are in a bit of a predicament. If the health department does not make any arrangements, the woman will probably be sent to a safe home.
