I League qualifier football starts in the country

(Aditya Shaw, Intern Journalist): Bhawanipur FC made a blistering start by defeating FC Bangalore United 2–0 in the I League qualifiers. With this match played in the empty stadium, sports activities started in the country after seven months. The games were called off due to Corona. It was the first football live match since the Indian Super League final on March 14. Bhawanipur took the lead in the last minute of the first half’s injury-time thanks to Pankaj Moula. In the 60th minute of the game, Philip Adjah scored the second goal for the team.

Players who have gone through the sanitation tunnel: During the match at the Salt Lake Stadium, the players and officials had to go through the sanitation tunnel and check the temperature. The rules of social distance were also followed. During the match, breaks were taken for water in each half. Under the new rules during Covid-19, teams had the option of five substitute players.
