(Aditya Shaw, Intern Journalist): The banned Khalistani pro-Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) has threatened to disrupt two Air India flights leaving for London on November 5. Since then, security has been increased at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi. The SFJ gave the call for the Air India boycott, the police gave this information on Wednesday.
According to the police officer, the US-based SFJ has called for a boycott of Air India flights and urged the victims of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots to occupy the airport to ‘internationalize’ the issue. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Deputy Commissioner of Police) Rajiv Ranjan said that we have tightened the security system after getting the information. The group has threatened to disrupt the operations of two Air India flights scheduled for London on 5 November. He said, “Even though the airport is a safe place, based on the information we have received, we have made adequate security arrangements for the safety of the passengers.”
A senior police officer said that there was also a meeting with officials of the Central Industrial Security Force, Air India, and Delhi International Airport Limited, to discuss the elaborate security arrangements. Similarly, a meeting in this regard was also held on Tuesday on behalf of CISF officials. He further said that Delhi Police officials also attended the meeting. SFJ insisting on the ‘Sikh referendum 2020’ for separatist agenda was banned by the government for anti-national activities.
