Saloni Subha ( Intern Journalist ): India recorded another big jump in the case of coronavirus on Friday, recorded 97,570 new cases of infection as it continued to set a record in daily cases and got closer to the threshold of 100,000 cases per day-mark.
India is the world’s second-worst affected country, with total cases of more than 4.65 million, only behind the United States, which has more than 6.5 million cases. However, the growth in infection in India is faster than anywhere else in the world, as cases increase through urban and rural areas.
The worst-hit state is Maharashtra has been particular has been hard-hit, with total confirmed cases breaching the 1 million mark on late Friday, making it the first state or province anywhere in the world to cross the mark.
