(Anjali Shreya, Intern Journalist): India and Spain on Tuesday discussed reforms and opportunities to increase bilateral economic cooperation in the post-COVID era
The 6th Foreign Office Consultation between India and Spain took place on Tuesday, during which the two countries shared views on a number of regional and global issues of common interest, including multilateral cooperation at international fora on terrorism, according to a statement by Ministry of External Affairs.
The Indian side was led by Vikas Swarup, Secretary (West), Ministry of External Affairs, and the Spanish side was led by Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Ibero-America, and Caribbean Cristina Gallach.
During the talks, both sides welcomed the results of the recent 15th India-EU Summit.
According to the statement, New Delhi and Madrid agreed to pursue a bilateral agenda, including exchanges between the two sides.
“The two sides exchanged views on the COVID-19 response and, in the context of COVID recovery priorities, discussed their reforms and opportunities to enhance bilateral economic cooperation,” the statement read.
“Both sides reviewed the agreements under consideration and methods to strengthen economic and trade, cultural, scientific, educational and people-level cooperation,” it added.
