At the same time, the number of infected patients has reached 28 lakh 36 thousand. But the good thing is that the number of people recovering from the infection has increased to about 21 lakh and the investigation has increased.
According to the data updated on Thursday morning, the death toll has risen to 53,866 with 977 deaths in the last 24 hours. Cases of infection have increased to 28,36,926 in the country, of which 6,86,395 people are undergoing treatment and 20,96,665 people have recovered from the disease after treatment. Foreign citizens are also involved in total cases of infection.
According to the data released by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), more than nine lakh samples were tested in the last 24 hours, as on August 19, a total of 3,26,61,252 samples were tested across the country. Out of which 9,18,470 samples were tested in one day on Thursday. The positivity rate is less than eight percent.
