The iPhone 11, launched last year, has become the best-selling premium smartphone in India in the first quarter of the year. The iPhone 11 has achieved this position by replacing the iPhone XR. Apart from this, OnePlus 7T has recorded its presence at number two. At the same time, the iPhone XR, which was the first number in the last quarter, has now reached the third number. Data research organization Counterpoint Research released the first quarter report of the year. In this report, Samsung has once again become India’s number one premium smartphone brand. Whereas, OnePlus has now reached number three from the first.

According to Counterpoint Research’s smartphone segment above Rs 30,000, Samsung launched the Galaxy S10 Lite and Galaxy Note 10 Lite as a new price range at the beginning of the year, benefiting from it. OnePlus had a long dominance in this price range. Samsung has also benefited from the Samsung Galaxy S20 series launched this year.
Samsung is followed by Apple, which has retained its second position. However, Samsung may find it difficult to save its first position in the next quarter. After the launch of Apple iPhone SE 2020 and OnePlus 8 series, there may be some changes in this quarter. Samsung has a market share of 34 per cent in the premium segment.
Apple has strengthened its dominance in the ultra-premium segment. Due to the success of the iPhone 11 series, Apple’s market share has increased to 55 per cent in this segment. The company has registered a year-on-year growth of 326 per cent. Talking about the best selling premium smartphone in India, the iPhone 11 occupies the first place with 17 per cent market share. At the same time, OnePlus 7T is in second place with 11 per cent market share. At the same time, the iPhone XR 9 occupies the third place with a market share.
