(Anjali Shreya, Intern Journalist): Veteran batsman Suresh Raina of Chennai Super Kings has withdrawn from the tournament ahead of the 13th season of the Indian Premier League. He is returning to India for personal reasons. The franchise team Chennai Super Kings has given information about his return to India. Supporting Raina’s decision, the team has asked him and his family to extend their full support.
The official Twitter page of Chennai Super Kings gave information about Raina’s return to India. It reads, “Suresh Raina is returning to India for personal reasons and he will not be available for the entire season of this IPL. Chennai Super Kings have spoken of their full support to Suresh and his family at such a time.”
According to the information, Raina’s uncle is murdered in Punjab, probably because of this he has decided to return to India immediately from UAE. Raina’s family is very upset about this incident.
Significantly, on Friday, 12 members of the Chennai team were found to be Corona positive.
Along with sending them to the quarantine for two weeks, the entire team has also been asked to go to the quarantine for safety. There is no good news for the Chennai team ahead of the tournament to be held in the UAE between September 19 and November 10. On Friday, 12 members, including the Indian bowler of the team, were found to be corona positive. So far no official statement has been received from the team.
