(Milcah Anila, Intern journalist) Vijayawada: The author gives the reader the illusion that the plundering of forest resources in capitalist societies is merely a smuggler, a wild thief. But it was not only the forest robbers who plundered the forests and their resources.
A major part of this exploitation is the political forces behind their story, the big international corporate powers that be. To say that a sincere officer can change his network with his honesty is to mislead readers. Sannapureddy Venkataramireddy Desharaju (Various, 24-08-2020) who reviewed the novel ‘Kondapolam’ seems to have been somewhat flattered in his objective commentary.
In 2019, ‘Konda Polam’ won a prize of two lakhs in the Thana novel competition. Although the plot revolves around the lives of snails, the author’s target readers are the middle class. That’s why it seems that they are careful to have a fascinating storyline while reading this novel. Theme: Ravindra Yadav Golla is a young man. He travels around coaching centers in Hyderabad to study engineering and get a job.
For those who grew up in the countryside, a natural sense of self-loathing, along with a lack of English, often leads to failure in interviews. So he comes to his hometown in the spare time he finds in the middle. By then, all the sheep in his barn are planning to go to a hillside where there is no grass or water for the sheep.
A hill farm is a place where sheep graze on water and when there is no water, the snails take them to the nearby Nallamala hills. Ravi also takes the sheep with his father Gurappa to the hill station. This wilderness is useful for losing one’s fear and self-loathing.
In that sequence, he realizes that beasts beyond tigers are hidden in the forest in the form of smugglers. With these experiences filled, Ravindra returns and changes his direction. He changes his goal of becoming a software engineer, studies hard to save the forest, and gets a job as a forest officer.
In this novel, fantasies and impossibilities take place in many places. Probably meant to spice things up. But in this novel, which reflects the dense life, if such spices are added, life becomes diluted and the original purpose of the novel is in danger of being damaged.
Ravindra Yadav changes his goal of becoming a software engineer and becomes a forest officer. He portrayed the purpose of the novel as fulfilling his success. But his class, which contributed to his success, continued to languish in the framework of feudalism as usual. There will be no change in their lives. It is unnatural to say that Ravindra Yadav, as a forest officer, saved the forest and animals from the clutches of smugglers. The author gives the reader the illusion that the plundering of forest resources in capitalist societies is merely a smuggler, a wild thief.
But it was not only the forest robbers who plundered the forests and their resources. The main part of this exploitation is the political forces that drive the story behind them, the big international corporate powers that drive those political forces. To say that a sincere officer can change his network with his honesty is to mislead readers. This does not happen in real life unless it happens in commercial movies and business literature.
It is not a feasible task to seek solutions at the individual level for an organized jade. It’s amazing to see instant fixes to fix bugs in the system! Another important thing to say. In India, where forests are being contracted out to corporate entities such as Tata to cut down forests, government officials can no longer act in any other way than to monitor the smooth running of the exploitation of those resources. Moreover, in line with the American imperialist argument that all forests in the world should be turned into a ‘no-man zone’ in favor of exploitation, such officers are responsible for enforcing those organisms if the governments here issue them.
There are some myths about the forest and animals in the novel. Elsewhere Ravindra confronts the tiger directly. At that moment, the tiger grabs his pet by the back and stops it from attacking him. He strikes the tiger on the head with an ax. This is highly unnatural. Just as the tiger turns back and forth to receive the dog behind it, the dog is said to be hanging in the air against it as the tiger turns around, holding the tiger tightly.
Tiger backs are very flexible. If anything attacks behind it will not stand still and turn back. Mobi tries to receive them back with his front paws on the floor. Moreover, it is only unrealistic for a hundred-pound man to encounter and injure an animal that weighs five hundred pounds. Tribals also do not attempt to attack with a weapon unless they follow techniques such as standing still when confronted by a tiger.
Elsewhere female male pythons are said to be whistling and calling to each other. The whistling of pythons is unheard of anywhere. If whistles are blown like that they have no ears so there is no chance of being heard. The pairing snakes do not whistle and come close to each other unless they are close to each other depending on the smell coming from them.
Elsewhere, the author says of a farmer who came to graze sheep and goats instead of farming cheaply, “I will stay as a laborer on my farm for at least five thousand rupees a month.” This is the idea of the farmer or the idea of the author but the idea of the ruling class! Governments have long had the idea of evicting a farmer from the farm and handing over the land to corporates to turn the farmer into a laborer on the farm. And the same idea is expressed by the role of the farmer .. Knowingly or unknowingly demands social acceptance.
An author like Sannapureddy, who has been writing for decades, cannot help but feel the social dynamics behind the lives he portrays. Capitalist social, economic. The principles of the political movement are tightening and making it impassable and filling their lives with tragedy. If they can drive and analyze those principles, they will unite towards social unity where they can break free and move freely. Even though Sannapureddy knew all these things, he deliberately put aside the Motive Force that was leading those lives. If it had not done so the novel would have remained immortal.
