(Harleen Kaur, Intern Journalist) According to the latest update, the university is being opened in a phased manner from November 2. In the first phase, researchers and Ph.D. final year students have been allowed to visit the campus, who have to submit their thesis. In the first phase, these students will be able to come to the campus. The university has issued an official statement in this regard saying that the university will be opened in a phased manner in view of the epidemic situation. Under this, in the first phase, Ph.D. final year students, 9B students, and project staff are allowed, who are mainly allowed in the labs.
According to the JNU administration, the second phase will start on November 16. During this time, the students of the final year staying in the hostel will be allowed to come. The JNU administration says they will be reviewed after both phases. Under this, if both these phases are completely cured, then other phases will be opened. Apart from this, COVID-19 testing camps will be organized on the campus from time to time with the help of local district administration. According to the official statement, both the Central Library as well as the canteen and dhabas will remain closed in both phases. Under this, disciplinary action will be taken if any person is found to be in violation of COVID-19 guidelines. Explain that the JNU Students’ Union had demanded that the researchers should be allowed to return to campus in a phased manner. On this demand, members of the Students Union were sitting at the university gate since last Saturday. However, now the university administration has accepted the students and from November 2, the final campus is going to open in a phased manner.
