(Riya Singh, Intern Journalist): JioMart is Reliance’s take on the country’s Amazon, Flipkart, and other e-commerce platforms. Reliance has finally released the JioMart app for Android as well as iPhone users after having tested the e-commerce retail platform for months now. The JioMart software can now be downloaded on the Google Play store and the Apple App Store. Until now the JioMart website (jiomart.com) has been reviewed and users have been able to place orders and pay online through 200 + cities.
Earlier this week at RIL Annual General Meet 2020, Mukesh D. Ambani declared that Reliance’s JioMart and Facebook’s WhatsApp will work towards generating more and more growth opportunities for the country’s small merchants. He also announced that with the passing day, JioMart has crossed 250,000 orders a day with numbers increasing. JioMart currently offers food and pharmacy products only. However, Ambani has announced that JioMart would soon grow to cover categories such as electronics, lifestyle, pharmaceutical, and healthcare.
