(Riya Saha, Intern Journalist)HAZARIBAG: More than 50 banquet halls in Hazaribag will be converted into Covid care centers at the beginning of August to accommodate the rising number of Coronavirus patients in the city.
Projecting a rise in the numbers of Coronavirus diagnosed patients in the coming weeks, district officials, including deputy commissioner Bhuvanesh Pratap Singh, met banquet hall owners and informed that their properties will be taken over by the government for some time. The owners also gave their consent for the same.

Singh gave the owners the discretion to charge the patients the expenses of accommodation and food. “Medical expenses will be borne by the district administration,” Singh said.

On Thursday morning, Hazaribag cumulative caseload was the third-highest in Jharkhand after Ranchi and East Singhbhum. According to state government data, Hazaribag has a total of 602 cases. The district has 287 active cases and nine have died with the virus. There are 15 containment zones in Hazaribag town.
