Milcah Anila, Intern Journalist Washington, DC: Joe Biden has been sworn in as the 46th President of the United States. Chief Justice Roberts was sworn in by Biden. The event was attended by Clinton, George W. Bush, and Obama family members.
The event began with the singing of the National Anthem by Lady Gaga at 11.30 am US time on Wednesday (10 pm Wednesday Indian time). Biden’s wife Jill Biden then addressed the gathering. Later, Supreme Court Judge Sonia Sotomayor administered the oath of office to Kamala Harris of Indian descent as Vice President.
