(Pooja Dubey, Intern Journalist) There is a fierce battle between the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Congress over agricultural laws. On Thursday evening, BJP national president Jagat Prakash Nadda tweeted an old video of Sonia Gandhi. With this, Nadda wrote that it is clear from this video that the Congress is confusing the farmers.
JP Nadda tweeted the video and wrote that the truth of the Congress which has confused farmers and deprived them of their rights has been revealed again. Sonia Gandhi used to advocate the middleman free market for farmers and now opposes it. This is the proof of the reversal of the Congress’s opportunistic thinking, less information, and repeated talk.
In this video, Sonia Gandhi is seen saying that the crop of the farmer is bought at a cheap price and is sold at an expensive price in the city. He further said that it is not right for the farmers to get the right price for their produce. He further said that this is possible only when farmers can sell their crops in the city without any middlemen.
Earlier this month, Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said that when the Congress was in power, it wanted to give agriculture into its own hands. The proposal to abolish APMC was in the Congress’ 2019 manifesto. Ravi Shankar Prasad said that during the tenure of Manmohan Singh, contract farming was done in many states.
