(Milcah Anila, Intern Journalist) Nandigam (Srikakulam district): Kallakada panchayat VRA has been arrested in a case of tampering with revenue records, Essay S. Balaraju said on Wednesday. It has been revealed that VRA Kottapalli Dhilleshwara Rao had collaborated with Telugu Desam Party leader Madan Gowda, who created false records and pretended to have about 30 acres of land and stole millions of rupees from innocent people. According to the essay, Dilleshwara Rao was arrested and sent to jail for allegedly tampering with revenue records and helping Madan Gowda with Rs 1.25 lakh in return for collecting evidence. The Nandigam tehsildar’s office was outsourced by a computer operator. However, VRA Dhilleshwara Rao, who has computer knowledge, has been appointed by the authorities in the past.
It is learned that he was accustomed to taking bribes for every little thing and offered his full support to the TDP leaders. Dhileshwara Rao occasionally uses the ‘key’ associated with the tehsildar digital signature for every minor work in the matter of revenue records. However, Madan Gowda, who thought it was the same, demanded Rs 1.25 lakh from Dilleswara Rao to tamper with revenue records at various places in the zone. However, the records tampering affair came to light in July when a Hyderabad-based man who had bought the land went to the office on suspicion and inquired. Nandigam police, who registered a case based on a complaint lodged by the victim, had earlier arrested the main accused Madan Gowda.
Police have launched an in-depth investigation into the role of tehsildar office staff in the manipulation of records and the facts have come out as suspicion on VRA Dilleshwara Rao. With this, the police recovered Rs 1.25 lakh from Madangaud, recovered Rs 1 lakh and arrested Dilleshwara Rao and sent him to Narasannapeta sub-jail. Many say more facts are likely to come out if the affair of revenue records tampering is investigated more deeply.
