For this, arrangements will be made by May 31, and people will be informed about the rules. Online service booking of 52 temples will start from today. The Karnataka government has taken this step at a time when religious and political events across the country have been completely banned for two months due to the lockdown. The announcement was made by the state’s Religious Affairs Minister Kota Srinivas after meeting Chief Minister BS Yeddiyurappa on Tuesday.
Rules will be made in worship
The Minister of Religious Affairs told reporters here, “During the talks with the Chief Minister, a decision was taken to open the temples from June 1”. Significantly, the fourth phase of the lockdown ends on May 31. In such a situation, it is believed that other religious activities can also be allowed in the state. Pujari said, with the opening of the temple on June 1, the worship will be allowed. However, he also indicated that some conditions could be imposed on it. He said that the government will take a decision later.
Fairs and events are not allowed in temples
He made it clear that fairs and events would not be allowed in temples. According to the priest, the movement of trains, airlines, vehicles has started. Hotels will also open soon. There are more than 34000 temples in the state and devotees were continuously demanding to open the temples.
Religious institutions are closed across the country from 25 March
Significantly, due to the spread of corona virus, all religious institutions across the country were closed after the lockdown before March 25. However, before this, a large number of religious institutions themselves were closed under caution. Religious institutions were not given any exemption even during the fourth phase implemented from 18 May.
