(Aditya Shaw, Intern Journalist): Kolkata Metro General Manager Manoj Joshi told on Thursday that the metro rail service in the city is being restored again from September 14 after being closed for more than five months. Talking to reporters, Joshi said that the metro railway will make 110 rounds daily on the Noapada-Kavi Subhash line.
The service will be closed on Sunday, trains, and stations will be sanitized on that day. He said, “55-55 trains will run between Noapara and Kavi Subhash stations from 8 am in both directions. The last trains from both stations will leave at seven in the evening. “Services on the East-Western line will also be restored from September 14.
He said that the first train would leave at eight in the morning and the last trains from both stations would leave at 7:40 in the evening. Services will be available from Monday to Saturday. Railway Minister Piyush Goyal requested the passengers to strictly follow the ‘do’s and don’ts’ for safe travel.
