(Rishitha Jaladi, Intern Journalist) Krishna District: The number of COVID positive cases are shooting up every day in Krishna district. Presently 2,506 positive cases are registered after 206 new COVID cases that were registered on Sunday. Three more dropped to the virus taking the death toll to 80.
The average no of cases has increased from Hundred to 206 from July 1. The district administration has intensified the testing process and It’s Known already that the State of Andhra Pradesh is leading in conducting more tests on a daily basis. The Joint Collector L Shivashankar scrutinized the Ground-level situation in Government general hospital, Vijayawada, and notices that the Medical staff is finding it difficult to enter the details of patients online. Hence he procured two new laptops. Also, the patients complained that the number of beds available with Oxygen supply is less. The collector instructed the hospital authorities to procure 100 new beds with oxygen facility in 2 days.
Patients coming to the Government hospitals with COVID symptoms will be tested and the results will be given in 2 hours. Patients who are tested negative can take treatment from the referred private hospital or any other government hospital of their choice, Shivashakar added.
