A diamond was recently found by a laborer in Jonnegiri, Thuggali Mandal. The diamond was found while doing farm work. Rs. It is learned that a trader sold the diamond for Rs 1.5 lakh. Most of the diamonds were found within a period of four months.
Every year after a rain, diamond hunting begins in Anantapur and Kurnool districts. The locals are busy hunting for diamonds in the fields. Recently, an expensive diamond was also found in the Anantapur district and it was revealed that it was sold to a trader.
Police are also investigating the matter. The villages of Jonnegiri, Erraguda, Peravali, Girigetla, Thuggali, Maddikera, Agraharam, Pagidirai, Ratana Kothuru, Basinepalli, Girigetla, Aminabad, and Ratana in the Adoni division of Kurnool district are of importance due to diamonds.
The lands of those villages continue to find diamonds every year during the monsoon season.
