(Deepshikha Gautam, Intern Journalist) New Delhi: Lakshadweep Lieutenant Governor Dineshwar Sharma has passed away. He was admitted to AIIMS Delhi for several days. Presently, he was working as the 34th Administrator of Lakshadweep. Dineshwar Sharma, a 1976 batch IPS officer of Kerala cadre, is survived by his wife Manju Sharma, a son and daughter. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah expressed condolences on Sharma’s death.
The Prime Minister expressed condolences on the demise of Lakshadweep Administrator Dineshwar Sharma by tweeting. The Prime Minister said, ‘Lakshadweep Administrator Dineshwar Sharma Ji has contributed to India’s policing and security system for a long time. He handled many sensitive fronts against terrorism and extremism during his policing career. His death was very sad. Our condolences to his family.’
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also condoled the death of Dineshwar Sharma.
He tweeted and said, It was a pain to know about the demise of Lakshadweep Administrator Dineshwar Sharma. He introduced patriotism while serving as a dedicated officer of the Indian Police Service. My heartfelt condolences to his family in this hour of grief.’
