(Riya Singh, Intern Journalist): To prepare the delicious Lasagne you will need 200 gms of pasta sheets, 80 gms of yellow zucchini, 80 gms of green zucchini, 30 gms of carrots, 30 gms of parsley, 100 gms of refined flour/maida, 150 gms of butter, 2 nos of bay leaves, 2 nos of cloves, 4 nos of onions, 1 ltr of milk, 300 gms of parmesan cheese and 100 ml tomato sauce.
Method:
- Put butter in a bowl and microwave on ‘high’ power for 30 seconds.
- Add refined flour/maida, blend and microwave on ‘high’ power for 3 minutes stirring after every minute.
- Very slowly blend in the milk and microwave on ‘high’ power for 8 minutes till the mixture has a thick sauce-like consistency, stir every 2 minutes.
- Add bay leaves, one onion, and clove and microwave on ‘medium’ power for 2 minutes. Set aside for 5 minutes, strain, discard onions, bay leaves, and clove.
- In a bowl take butter, add sliced zucchini and carrots. Microwave on ‘high’ power for 3 minutes, stirring after every two minutes. Blend with white sauce and keep aside.
- Arrange the pasta sheets in a pan and spoon the mixture. Put another pasta sheet on top and sprinkle some cheese. Repeat the process twice more.
- Pre-heat the grill at 180 degrees for 10 minutes.
- Put the filled bowl on high rack and microwave on ‘high’ power for 3 minutes, then grill for 6 minutes, use a combination mode microwave+grill.
- Remove, serve hot garnished with paprika and parsley on a bed of tomato sauce.
