Suparna Ghosh (Intern Journalist) Kolkata: While Arvind Kejriwal requested for the intervention of PM Modi into the matter of conducting final examinations as said by UGC the last day, Banerjee appealed to Modi to reinstate the previous guidelines by UGC which stated that “ guidelines are advisory and clearly suggestive in nature”

UGC on the other day clearly quoted saying that conducting final examinations for the final year students are a mandatory, concern, and questions were raised from different states for coming up with such a declaration. India at this time crosses 8 lakh Covid-19 cases, witnessing a huge spike in some of the metropolitan cities. Now the total number of Covid-19 cases stands at 8,20,916 with 22,123 fatalities all over the country. Hence conducting exams at this phase would clearly prove dangerous and fatal for the students.

Rahul Gandhi said on Friday, “Extremely unfair to conduct exams during the Covid-19 pandemic.” Chief Ministers from various states including Kejriwal is not satisfied with UGC’s decision to compulsorily taking the exams. It is henceforth a matter of serious concern.
