Describing West Bengal as an important part of the country, Anurag Thakur asked whether it is a crime for the Union Minister to visit the state? At Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport here, he told reporters, “If the Indian government minister coming to West Bengal is called an outsider, then I want to ask which place people are considered to be inner?”
Anurag Thakur came to see BCCI President Sourav Ganguly admitted in a private hospital in Kolkata. He said that Bengal has given the country unique talent in many fields. At the same time, people from all parts of India settled in the state and contributed to the development here.

Mamta accused of bringing outsiders
The Union Minister questioned the discussion that led to the imposition of such a stamp on other people of the country. He asked if such an ideology should be allowed to flourish. The Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool had alleged that the BJP was bringing ‘outsiders’ to contest the state assembly elections. It is worth noting that elections are to be held in the state in April-May.
