(Riya Singh, Intern Journalist): Jihad Al-Suwaiti, 30, Palestinian from the West Bank town of Beit Awa, had no alternative but to wave goodbye to his mother by climbing up to the window of the Hebron State Hospital Intensive Care Unit, where she underwent care for Covid-19. His mother was ill with leukemia while she tested positive for covid-19 and was taken to the Hebron State Hospital and spent five days undergoing medication there.
Jihad’s older brother said he was defiant and kept climbing the window every day, despite being warned off by hospital guards. The novel coronavirus has taken on a huge emotional toll on many who over the last hour have been unable to see their loved ones and it is a memory that will haunt people like jihad, forever.
