(Riya Singh, Intern Journalist) Patna: A 30-year-old man was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a seven-year-old boy at Patna’s Daldali road under Kadamkuan police station limits. Police said that when the minor opposed the sexual misconduct, the accused threw hot tea on the victim. The boy sustained burn injuries. Cops have identified the accused as Sujit Kumar who owns a grocery shop.
The incident came to light when the victim told the matter to his parents and a complaint was lodged. The boy had gone to purchase chocolates at Sujit’s shop when he attempted sexual assault on the minor. When the victim revolted, furious Sujit threw hot tea on him. The boy’s parents immediately rushed to the nearby police station and lodged a complaint.
“This is not the first time that my son has faced it. This man has been sexually assaulting him for one year. Today, when my son opposed than he threw tea on him,” said Sanjana, the victim’s mother.
“We have arrested a man after the boy and her mother lodged a complaint about sexually assaulting the minor. An investigation is underway,” said a police officer.
An FIR was registered against the accused under relevant sections of the POSCO Act and an initial investigation has started.
