New Delhi: (Geetesh Ujjainwal, Intern Journalist) A 24-year-old man slit his estranged wife’s throat after a fight and fled leaving her for dead. However, despite having lost a lot of blood, the wife managed to dial her father for help and was eventually saved.
Police have arrested the man, Gyanendra Shukla, and charged him for attempted murder charges.
Neha, a transgender got married to Gyanendra Shukla. They initially lived in North Delhi’s Timarpur. After that, she moved out of that house as the differences between them turned up. Then She rented a house in the Amar colony.
On July 11, police received two calls informing them about the attack on the woman in A-block. A team rushed there but found that the injured had been shifted to AIIMS Trauma Centre. She was unfit for a statement so the cops spoke to her father who said her husband had attacked her. The cops conducted raids and nabbed Shukla. Shukla told the cops that a few months into the marriage, he came to know about some alleged affairs of his wife and got furious.
