Saloni Subha ( Intern Journalist ) Mumbai: Bombay high court has rejected anticipatory bail to a man who divorced his wife through triple talaq. He also forced her to be at her paternal home and blocked her phone number.
The couple married in the year 2018. The wife claimed that despite giving him RS 5 lakh he tortured her and beat her to get money from her parents. He also had unnatural sex with her. On June 3 after he assaulted her and pronounced triple talaq.
“This lends corroboration to the allegations that he had divorced the informant illegally, in the violation of the provisions of The Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Act, 2019. There are serious allegations of inserting rod, taking indecent photos and videos. This requires custodial integration of the applicants”, said justice Sarang Kotwal in his Oct 21 order.
