Saloni Subha ( Intern Journalist ) Several senior leaders are going to miss the much-awaited monsoon session of Parliament, because of fears of exposing themselves to coronavirus disease even though Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha MP are not leaving any stone unturned to organize a safe session.
According to the office of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, will attend only the inauguration which is going to be held on September 14 but his presence might be uncertain for the remaining part of the session as his doctor has strictly advised him against leaving his home because Singh is 87.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee and Trinamool Congress Mamta Banerjee has already declared that some of her MPs who are old or suffering from any disease will not attend the session. Trinamool Lok Sabha floor leader Sudip Bandopadhyay will not come to Delhi but will guide the MPs from Kolkata.
Congress leader said that former defense minister Ak Antony, 79, may not attend the session daily but will be there on some days. Similarly, Congress leader and former UPA leader Vayalar Ravi, 83, too may not attend the session every day. However, Congress president Sonia Gandhi has gone to the US for a routine check-up. Both of them are members of the Rajya Sabha
