Massive Fire Accident At Serum Institute Of India In Pune

(Milcah Anila, Intern Journalist) Mumbai: A huge fire broke out at the headquarters of the largest vaccine manufacturer, the Serum Institute of India. The fire broke out at Terminal-1 Gate at the Manjri plant in Pune.

Five crew members were killed and several others were injured in the accident. They were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Dense smoke billowed over the area following the Agri accident.

Firefighters rushed to the scene and put out the blaze. A team from the Serum Institute is investigating the accident. It is known that serum is being used on a large scale to develop the ‘Covishield’ vaccine developed by Oxford Astra Geneca. However, the serum staff said that there did not impede the manufacture of Covshield vaccines.
