(Rishitha Jaladi, Intern Journalist)Surat: Huge fire broke out at an Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) plant in Surat early toward the beginning of today.
As per beginning data, three back to back impacts occurred at two terminals of the Hazira-based ONGC plant in Surat at around 3 am.
“A fire was seen in the Hazira Gas preparing plant in the first part of the day today. The fire has been managed. There is no loss or injury to any individual: Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC),”.
There is no loss or injury to any individual revealed up until this point.
Surat Collector and District Magistrate Dhaval Patel, a senior city official, disclosed the fire was brought about by a break in a pipeline at the gas terminal. ONGC’s plant is in Surat, a city in Gujarat.
“The territory was cordoned off, depressurized and cooled as a piece of firefighting measures,” Patel said.
“Different plants in the region are working of course. I am informed that the ONGC plant will likewise turn out to be halfway operational in a few hours,” he said.
Surat Municipal Commissioner Banchhanidhi Pani said the fire was in the 36-inch Uran-Mumbai gas pipeline.
A source acquainted with the issue said the Hazira plant measures gas from the Bassein gas field, seaward Maharashtra state, south of Gujarat.
