(Milcah Anila, Intern Journalist) Lucknow: BSP president Mayawati has said that she will work hard to defeat Samajwadi Party leaders in the upcoming MLC elections in Uttar Pradesh and will vote for the BJP if necessary.
Those who were allies during last year’s general election have since become staunch enemies. At present, there is a bitter feud between the two. In this context, Mayawati also announced her readiness to vote for the BJP. Withdrawing the June 2, 1995 case was described as the biggest mistake of his life.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayawati said, “We will do our best to defeat the Samajwadi Party candidate in the MLC elections. Also, be prepared to vote for the BJP if necessary. Or to another party. We will put this into practice, ‘Mayawati said in a sensational statement.
Mayawati said that they had made a big mistake by withdrawing the June 2, 1995 case and it would have been better not to join hands with them. He said his party workers had been working hard for victory since they decided to contest the Lok Sabha elections with the SP. She said leaders had been pressuring her to withdraw the cases against the Samajwadi Party in 1995 from the first day they joined hands. Mayawati commented that they had made a big mistake by withdrawing the case.
Elections for 10 Rajya Sabha seats in UP will be held on November 9. It is noteworthy that Mayawati made these sensational remarks in this regard. Given its strength in the Assembly, the BSP has fielded Ramji Gautam as its candidate. His name was nominated by 10 BSP MLAs. Nomination papers have been signed to this effect.
However, six MLAs on Wednesday said they had forged their signatures and would not support the BSP candidate in the Rajya Sabha elections. They made it clear that they had no grievances against party chief Mayawati. Surprisingly, shortly after meeting the returning officer, he went straight to the party office to meet Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav. In this context, the statement was made on Mayawati.
