(Aditya Shaw, Intern Journalist): The government has fixed the annual fees of private medical and dental colleges in Uttar Pradesh. In this, except for some colleges, the fees have been increased from 21 thousand to 2.84 lakh rupees. On Saturday, the details of this were uploaded on the website www.updgme.in by the Department of Medical Education. In the order issued by the government, it has been clarified that no medical college will be able to recover extra from the prescribed fees from medical students.

According to the details released from the government, the fee structure of 24 private medical and 19 dental colleges has been fixed in the state. Of these, the maximum fee of MBBS is Rs 12.72 lakhs from Shri Ram Murti Smarak Institute of Medical Sciences, Bareilly. The lowest fee for this course is Rs 10.40 lakh, which is from the Hindi Medical College of Sitapur.

At the same time, the highest fees of BDS is Rs 3.65 lakh, which is from Kothiwal Dental College in Moradabad and School of Dental Sciences of Greater Noida. The lowest fee in this course is Rs 2.93 lakh from Subharti Dental College, Meerut, Indraprastha Dental College, and IDS College, Bareilly. At the same time, there is no change in the fees (Rs 10.67 lakh) of Mayo Medical College, Lucknow.

The governor had expressed concern
Recently, Governor Anandiben Patel had a meeting with private medical colleges and expressed concern over expensive medical studies. She had said that poor families should be taken care of in increasing the fees and find a middle way by talking with the college government. Some colleges have implemented this, while some have increased the fees wildly.

1.50 lakh rupees will have to be given for hostels
The government has also fixed hostel fees of MBBS and BDS. MBBS students will have to pay one and a half lakh rupees for non AC rooms. 25 thousand rupees will be charged for the AC room. This amount includes all hostel fees. At the same time, three lakh rupees will also be given security money, which will be returned after studies. BDS students will have to pay Rs 85 thousand for non AC room and Rs 1.10 lakh for the AC room. Security money will be only three lakh rupees.
