Aatmja Kumari(Intern Journalist): Microsoft said that after a meeting with President Donald Trump on Sunday, negotiations are continuing to buy Tiktok’s US operations. The company said in a statement, “After negotiations between Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and President Donald J. Trump, Microsoft is ready to continue discussions for the purchase of Tiktok in the US.” Pompeo told, “President Trump said, ‘Enough happened,’ and we’re going to fix it.” He said, “And so he will take action in the coming days regarding the national security risks that are being generated by the software Tiktok associated with the Chinese Communist Party.”
Trump has threatened to shut down Tiktock in the US, citing national security concerns, and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said earlier on Sunday that the president is ready to announce stern action against Tiktok.
Earlier media reports suggested that the Trump app’s US operations may be separated from its Chinese owner byte adance. But The Wall Street Journal reported on Saturday that Microsoft’s plan to buy TickTock’s US operations was postponed after Trump threatened to ban the app.
