The vaccination campaign will start from January 16 across the country. During this time priority will be given to health workers and frontline employees. Initially about 3 crore people will be vaccinated with Corona, which will be free. After this, a plan has been prepared to vaccinate people above 50 years of age. Vaccination of the remaining 27 crore people to be vaccinated in the first phase will begin after that.
At the same time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted that on January 16, India has moved another important step forward in fighting the coronavirus. India’s nationwide corona vaccination campaign will begin on January 16. He said that frontline employees, including our brave doctors, healthcare workers, sanitation workers, would be given first priority in the vaccination of Corona.
Let me tell you that Prime Minister Modi chaired a high-level meeting to review the condition of corona in the country along with the preparations of the state and union territories for corona vaccination. The meeting was attended by Cabinet Secretary, Principal Secretary, Principal Secretary, Health Secretary, and other senior officials.
79 lakh people got registered on the Covin App regarding a vaccination- In this meeting, the Prime Minister was told that how the Central Government is preparing for the soon-to-be-started vaccination campaign with the states. The Prime Minister was told that so far 79 lakh beneficiaries have been registered on the Covin App, which is to be given vaccine initially. After a detailed review in the meeting, it was decided that the vaccination campaign in the country would be started from January 16 in view of festivals like Lohri, Makar Sankranti Pongal, Magha Bihu.
Two Corona vaccines have been approved- It may be noted that recently, two Corona vaccines have been approved in the country by DCGI (Drug Controller General of India). These two corona vaccines include the Serum Institute of India’s Covishield and Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin.
The Serum Institute of India (SII), the world’s largest vaccine manufacturer, has partnered with AstraZeneca and Oxford University to produce ‘Covishield’. At the same time, Bharat Biotech has formed ‘Covaxin’ in collaboration with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
