(Anjali Shreya, Intern Journalist): The cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved the new education policy of the 21st century. This is extremely important as there was no change in education policy for 34 years. The cabinet of Union Ministers Prakash Javadekar and Ramesh Pokhriyal revealed their special features after the education policy was approved. On this occasion, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said that the public will welcome it.

Education Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Ninshak said that the world’s largest consultation process was adopted to formulate the National Education Policy 2020. He said that I wish all the best to the country more than 1000 universities, more than 1 crore teachers and 33 crore students.
Union Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ had earlier said that the new education policy will address many issues in the education sector. He also said that the new policy will make it easier for the youth to pursue higher education. The National Education Policy was adopted in 1986 and was last revised in 1992.

The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) will be renamed as the Ministry of Education.
