Aatmja Kumari(Intern Journalist): On Thursday, ahead constable posted in Moradabad committed suicide by shooting himself. The incident is of barrack number one of the police line. The incident took place when Moradabad’s IG Ramit Sharma and SSP Prabhakar Chaudhary were meeting with the subordinates in the police line auditorium. As soon as the bullet started, there was chaos in the police line. IG and SSP inspected the incident site. The government was informed about the suicide of the head constable. The inquiry revealed that the head constable had been mentally ill for the past several days.
Police line counter inspector Indraveer Singh said that the head constable Mazhar Hussain was originally from Atanga Chandpur village in Bareilly. Mazhar Hussain’s wife Zarine works as a clerk in the Pilibhit block. The head constable’s family has lived in the Civil Line area of Pilibhit for the past several years near the Centaulis School. Mazhar Hussain returned to the police line on Wednesday after a 27-day long holiday.
On Thursday, his duty was placed as a guard at the temporary prison on Delhi Road. The head constable obtained a service carbine from the armory. He then went to his bed in room number one of barrack number four. There then the head constables Rajendra Sharma, Mahipal Singh, and Pitambar were also resting on their bed in the room. Then the head constable, sitting on the bed, shot the carbine in his head. He rolled onto the bed as soon as the bullet hit. On hearing the sound of the bullet, the co-constable arrived at the scene. A blood-soaked head constable died on the spot.
Information about the incident was immediately given to IG Ramit Sharma and SSP Prabhakar Chaudhary. Both immediately reached the spot. After inspecting the site of the incident, he directed to send the dead body to the postmortem house.
