(Riya Saha,Intern Journalist)Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Saturday announced on the social media that he has tested positive for coronavirus. The BJP leader said he was having symptoms for a few days.

Chouhan has urged all his colleagues who have come in contact with him to get tested and go under quarantine.
“My dear countrymen, I was having symptoms and after my test reports came back it turned out that I tested positive. I appeal to all my colleagues, whoever has come in contact with me, to get their coronavirus tests done. My close contacts must move to quarantine,” he tweeted.

“I am following all the guidelines. I will quarantine myself according to the doctor’s advice. I appeal to the people of my state to be careful. Even a little carelessness can invite the coronavirus disease. I made every effort to avoid Covid but people used to meet me to discuss many issues,” Chouhan said.

“If treated on time, then the person is completely cured. I have been reviewing the status of corona infection every evening since March 25. I will try to review coronavirus with video conferencing as much as possible now. In my absence, this meeting will now be held by Home Minister Narottam Misra, Minister of Urban Development and Administration Bhuppendra Singh, Health Education Minister Vishvas Sarang and Health Minister Prabhuram Choudhary,” he said.

Chouhan, however, said that he will “continue to do everything possible in his control to ensure smooth functioning of the state’s counter-Covid measures”.
