(Anjali Shreya, Intern Journalist): Maryam Nawaz, daughter of former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, has launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Imran Khan. He linked Imran and his ruling party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf with the Coronavirus and said that both are like this deadly virus.
At an election public meeting in Gilgit-Baltistan on Monday, Maryam said, ‘The disease called Covid-19 was recently in the world, but it had spread in Pakistan in the year 2018 itself. Wearing this mask will not go away. It needs to be uprooted. ‘ Imran came to power in 2018. The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) vice-president is campaigning for the assembly elections to be held this Sunday in occupied Gilgit-Baltistan. Maryam had earlier said in an election meeting that Prime Minister Imran Khan’s days in power were few and far between and his ‘fake government’ was soon coming to an end.
