(Anjali Shreya, Intern Journalist): Chief Minister Nitish Kumar gave a clear directive on Wednesday (December 9) to review the police station areas in which incidents of crime have increased and take strict action against the officers of the police concerned. No negligence will be tolerated. Identifying professional criminals and instructing them to take tough measures against them. He said this in a five-hour high-level review meeting with top officials of the state administration and police.
The Chief Minister said that in recent times it has been seen that the trend of crime among new age boys is increasing. The police will have to work sensitively and strictly on this matter. The Chief Minister also directed to take strict action against them by marking the officials who had acted in a manner.
The Chief Minister again directed that night patrolling should be further strengthened. Monitoring of patrols with geofencing techniques should be ensured. It was instructed that two vehicles with GPS be available in all police stations for patrolling. Sensitivity and confidentiality are essential in policing. The station diary should be kept updated in all police stations. For the police stations which do not have their own buildings, make their buildings available by providing land.
