(Manisha Mahar, Intern Journalist); General of the Indian Army General Manoj Mukund Narwane arrived in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, on a 3-day visit on Wednesday. Narwane has gone there at the invitation of Army Chief General of Nepal Purna Chandra Thapa. Nepal’s President Vidya Devi Bhandari will honor Narwane today on the rank of Nepal Army Honorary General. Such a tradition has been going on since 1950. In this, India also gives the Honorary rank of General of the Indian Army to the Chief of the Nepali Army.
Army Chief of India has visited Nepal for the first time after a border dispute with Nepal. Narwane will first pay tribute to the martyred soldiers of Nepal at the Veer memorial today. The Army of Nepal will give the Guard of Honor to the Indian Army Chief. General Narwane will also have a meeting with the Chief of the Nepali Army. Narwane will deliver medicines and medical equipment from Nepal to India.
