(Aditya Shaw, Intern Journalist): The West Bengal government announced on Thursday that no application fee will be charged from students for admission to undergraduate courses in state government-run colleges and universities. State Education Minister Partha Chatterjee said, “I say this very strongly It has been said that during admission, the college should not charge a single rupee from any applicant. “She said,” Do not charge college students for the booklet. Similarly, universities with undergraduate courses should not charge any fee from applicants. Chatterjee said that students are already facing problems due to Covid-19. In such a situation, no financial burden should be imposed on them. Following the Minister’s statement, the Higher Education Department has issued a notification in this regard.
