(Riya Saha, Intern Journalist )Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan on Thursday said that experts have stated there is no community transmission in India.

“There may be some localized pockets where transmission is high, but as a country, there’s no community transmission in India,” he pointed out.

Vardhan also said that while looking at the number of cases in India, it is necessary to see that the country has the second-highest population in the world.
“The global comparison between the five most-affected countries clearly depicted that India has one of the lowest cases per million (538) and deaths per million (15), compared to the global average of 1,453 and 68.7, respectively.” , he further added.
