(Deepshikha Gautam, Intern Journalist) New Delhi: The plan to install fastag in 100% vehicles is not being successful. In view of this, the government has decided to give all toll tax only to vehicles with fastag. That is, there will be no discount on cash payments. This will not give tax concession to vehicles and locals returning in 24 hours.
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, on Tuesday, issued a notification, changed the National Highway fees (retention rate collection) in 2008. The old rule also exempts private and commercial vehicles within the prescribed scope of toll plazas. But now has been abolished. Now fastag has to be applied to get the discount. Paralyze will have to face trouble with the new rule. Earlier, the disabled had a 100% exemption in toll tax. They have to buy a discounted fastag to get this concession.
