(Rishitha Jaladi, Intern Journalist) UP: UP police reporting to the supreme court said, Vikas Dubey’s is not a fake encounter. The Police officials acted as per the Supreme court guidelines following Law.
Vikas Dubey was encountered on July 10th when trying to escape from the police after a car accident. People and media criticized it as a fake encounter as it was a plan to save many politicians and Big shots. “While Telangana didn’t order a Judicial Commission, but we did.” marked director general of UP police in an affidavit.
More facts will be brought to light later if we are given time. Telangana’s encounter is completely different from Kanpur’s. Criminals in the former are not hardened like Vikas who has 64 cases against him. The Police also have material evidence of the damaged car. While there are no such pieces of evidence in Telangana’s case.
Four men accused in the gang rape and murder of Dr. Priyanka Reddy(Disha) were encountered in the scene recreation spot on December 6th, by the Police, Who claimed that the accused snatched their weapons and shot them back. This was done bypassing the law, said sources.
In this case, Telangana didn’t order an inquiry or judicial commission, While, UP police have ordered a special investigation team to dig out the truth. The Supreme court will hear on Monday about transferring the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation or the National Investigation Agency, and for the top court to monitor the prob.
