(Pooja Dubey, Intern Journalist) The Department of Delhi has decided that now liquor shops in the capital will be open from 10 am tonight. Earlier their time was from 10 am to 9.00 pm. In this way, these shops will be open for one hour longer.
The decision of the department has been taken to bring Delhi’s economy back on track. The decision is expected to improve with the loss of revenue to the state due to the lockdown.
A major part of the revenue received by the Delhi Government is from the Excise Department, that is, from the sale of liquor. It may be known that when the liquor shops were opened for the first time after the lockdown, in less than a week, these shops received revenue of about 200 crores.
