On the law and order front, the police department is busy strengthening its claim with the help of six months of achievements presented by both the police commissioners of the state. It is being advocated by the old system to be more effective in dealing with coronavirus. According to sources, the police commissioner system is expected to be implemented in Varanasi, Kanpur, and Agra in the second phase.
And the police commissioner system was implemented in Gautam Budh Nagar (Noida). At that time it was also said that after 6 months this experiment will be reviewed. Also from the ADG level, Sujit Pandey was given the responsibility of Lucknow and Alok Singh as Commissioner of Police of Noida. Both the police commissioners have now handed over the details of their 6 months achievements to the DGP headquarters and the home department of the government.
The officers of DGP headquarters are expected to implement the police commissioner system in some other major districts of the state with the help of both the Police commissioner and the details of the actions to curb the crimes. Details have also formed the basis for the settlement of comparative data and observations over the years. On the other hand, there has been a new debate in the cadre between police activism. The IAS officers posted on the post of District Officer are advocating through their superiors to maintain the old system in the districts. They say that the old system has been made relevant.
